ARSENAL Anthology: Memories is Daniel W Chung’s first published work and was released on October 19, 2023. The anthology brings together nine selective stories built around military science fiction, fiction, and themes of war, memory, drama, and nostalgia.
The book is based on space operas such as Star Wars and Metal Gear. It also draws on the three major wars Daniel mentions in the preface: World War II, the Cold War, and Vietnam. Beyond that, he describes the book as being based on his dreams, past, and memories.
Daniel says he hopes readers will gain positive experiences and happy memories from his books. This anthology is written for readers who enjoy imaginative stories, emotional themes, and a strong mix of science fiction and history-inspired storytelling.
There is a history behind this book and why it exists now. My wish pertaining to all the short stories I wrote were all the ideas I have been wanting to express for a long time, starting these recent years. When I started out writing my previous first book, I got curious and took a chance at contacting a local book publisher. The reason I did that at the time is I was wondering what it’s like to be an actual author and I wanted to see what I was capable of. Afterwards, I was glad the stories turned out well. Regarding this book, they were ideas I accumulated over several years and started the idea of incorporating more than one language such as Korean and Japanese for to begin the sake of combining and expressing more knowledge and personality. Some of these story short entries were based on past personal occurrences, events and experiences. The rest were thoughts of my imagination and inner visions of love and comedy in my head. In a way, this 50-page novel was made to help people laugh and cheer up. This was one of my goals.
